- Site: Moist to average (adaptable once established)
Plant Details

- Blooms: Mid to late summer
- Deer Resistant: Yes
Why we love it
- Cheerful pink flower clusters add a beautiful pop of color in mid summer
- Upright, architectural form gives the plant strong presence without flopping
- Blooms for about a month, offering sustained color during peak summer
Why wildlife loves it
- Important nectar source for a wide range of pollinators
- Host plant for monarch butterflies
- Birds prize the soft, water-resistant seed silk and fibrous stems as nesting material — ideal for lining nests
Fun to See
- Look for tiny comma-shaped holes in the leaves—evidence of monarch caterpillars beginning their life. See if a caterpillar is on the underside of the leaf
What to expect at pickup
Ground covers and ferns are sold as young, well rooted plugs. Shrubs are sold in 1 gallon containers.
Because this is a fall collection, some plants may have limited foliage or may be beginning to enter dormancy at pickup. This is a normal seasonal change. Their roots are healthy and ready to establish after planting.
