-
Late blooms provide nectar when the growing season is winding down
-
Seed heads left standing provide winter food for songbirds
Fun to see
Watch for migrating Monarchs stopping to refuel on the flowers in late summer and fall.
A note on spread
Blue Mistflower spreads readily by rhizomes and seed. Give it room to form a colony, or plant it where its spreading habit is welcome.
What to expect at pickup
Ground covers and ferns are sold as young, well rooted plugs. Shrubs are sold in 1 gallon containers.
Because this is a fall collection, some plants may have limited foliage or may be beginning to enter dormancy at pickup. This is a normal seasonal change. Their roots are healthy and ready to establish after planting.
