Why we love it

  • Four season interest with spring flowers, glossy summer foliage, brilliant fall color and red berries
  • Its narrow, upright habit works well in borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and rain gardens
  • Excellent alternative to the invasive Burning Bush

Why wildlife loves it

  • Clusters of red fruit provide food for songbirds and small mammals
  • Spring flowers provide nectar and pollen for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators

Fun to see

Birds may leave the bright red fruit untouched. Then in late winter, a hungry flock can discover the shrub and strip it nearly bare in a single day.

What to expect at pickup

Ground covers and ferns are sold as young, well rooted plugs. Shrubs are sold in 1 gallon containers.

Because this is a fall collection, some plants may have limited foliage or may be beginning to enter dormancy at pickup. This is a normal seasonal change. Their roots are healthy and ready to establish after planting.
